local resorts

La Tillette is perfectly placed for all the world class resorts in the Haute Tarentaise region of the French Alps. Sainte Foy, Val'd'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosiere are all within minutes. Whatever the weather, or your desires, there's a resort very close by to suit everyone.

"Your own private resort"

Surrounded by the World famous mega-resorts of Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosiere, Sainte Foy is your hosts’ favourite resort.
With its friendly atmosphere, cheap lift pass (approx 40% cheaper than  those in Val d'Isere and Les Arcs), and excellent and affordable restaurants, Sainte Foy remains quiet and unspoilt. In fact Sainte Foy must be one of the least busy resorts you will ever visit.
Once at the resort, after a short car or bus ride, snow time is 100% snow time.
With lifts running from 1550m up to 2620m, the sheltered, north-west facing slopes enjoy excellent snow throughout the winter.
Pistes are beautifully prepared and the ridiculously small number of visitors to the resort means that they stay in top condition all day long.
The lower slopes offer wonderful sweeping runs through the trees whilst the upper slopes provide the truly breathtaking descents.
Don't be confused by the seemingly small number of lifts. They are all incredibly under-utilised and provide quick and easy access to an area that would have at least 3 times the number of lifts in any busier resort. Incidentally, the future developable ski area here would rival that existing in Val d'Isere!
When you fancy a rest from the slopes, why not stop off at one of the selection of superb and very reasonable restaurants on the slopes, some converted from original Savoyard shepherds lodgings.

"We have all had just the most fabulous holiday in the mountains of Sainte Foy" Adrian and Sarah 2012
"We have loved the resort. Great family skiing" Emma and Andy 2012
"We love Sainte Foy and we hope we'll be seeing lots more of it" Tanya and Andy 2012
"The chalet is super and we were so impressed with the whole area. Ste Foy is a little gem" David and Jules 2012

val d'isere Tignes

Val d’Isère should need no introduction to the seasoned skier or snowboarder.

“Val” is one of the longest established ski resorts, and a snow-sure favourite with British clients for decades. Linked to neighbouring Tignes, the “Espace Killy” is a vast, high quality snow-sports area boasting some 300km of pistes served by 90 lifts.

There really is something for every skier or snowboarder here with challenging off-piste routes, world class snowparks, high speed pistes (some used for World Cup racing), and gentler slopes (higher up) for the more cautious.

Apart from the skiing and snowboarding, Val d’Isère boasts a multitude of shops, restaurants, and a very lively nightlife!

Tignes is one of the World’s most snow-sure resorts, offering glacier skiing throughout the summer months in addition to the vast “Espace Killy” ski area during the winter season.

Tignes comprises 5 separate villages, linked together by the ski slopes, which are in turn linked to neighbouring Val d’Isère. The lowest village, Tignes les Brevières is only 12km (7,5 miles) from la Tillette and is thus a very convenient  entry point to the Espace Killy area.

Tignes offers excellent skiing and snowboarding with many wide, sweeping pistes, plentiful off-piste opportunities and a world class snowpark. In fact the Tignes snowpark is home to the European Winter X Games every March. There is also a very generously sized beginners’ slope with chair-lift, in central Tignes le Lac, which is entirely free!

paradiski

One of the original French “mega-resorts”, Les Arcs offers an extensive snow-sport terrain following its link to La Plagne and Les Coches in 2003. This combined ski area is known collectively as “Paradiski”.

The village of le Pre de Villaroger links into the Les Arcs lift network, and at only 3 km from la Tillette, is a very quick way to access the slopes. In fact the pistes of the Villaroger side of Les Arcs are clearly visible from the comfort of la Tillette.

Another convenient access point to the les Arcs/Paradiski network, is the funicular railway at the nearby town of Bourg Saint Maurice. With plentiful free parking, use of the funicular is included in the price of the Les Arcs ski pass.

la Rosiere, luxury ski chalet

la rosiere

la thuile

La Rosière is an easy 11 km (7 miles) drive from la Tillette and a very popular choice with clients on good weather days.

The slopes of la Rosièere are wide and quite gentle and the panoramic views are simply stunning. It is a great choice for a group or family day out with the option of heading over to the Italian side and the resort of la Thuile (the whole area is known as the Espace San Bernardo) for slightly more challenging runs, super-thick hot chocolates and genuine Italian pizza or pasta!

La Rosière is a friendly, family resort and the slopes never get over-crowded.
